Fleet acquisition (2023)
One of our proudest milestones at Gava Foods was the acquisition of our eight-vessel fleet. This strategic expansion has enabled us to sustainably increase our catch capacity and maintain a consistent supply of premium seafood products. Each vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure the highest standards of quality and sustainability, reflecting our commitment to responsibly sourced seafood. This milestone marks a significant step forward in our mission to bring the best of Panama’s waters to customers around the world.
Plant development (on-going)
The development of our processing plant, Vacamonte Processing Company (VPC), at Vacamonte Port marked another key milestone for Gava Foods. This state-of-the-art facility has significantly enhanced our production capabilities, allowing us to process and package our premium seafood products with unmatched efficiency and quality control. Strategically located at one of Panama's major ports, VPC enables us to maintain the freshness of our catch and streamline our operations, ensuring that every product we deliver meets our high standards of excellence and sustainability.
Distribution deals (2023)
Securing an exclusive distribution deal with Solimeno S.A., a leading seafood supplier in Argentina, marked a pivotal milestone for Gava Foods. This partnership allows us to bring premium Argentine products, such as red shrimp and hake, directly to the U.S. market.
By expanding our product range and collaborating with industry leaders, we continue our mission to deliver the highest quality seafood while strengthening our presence in international markets. This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to excellence and growth.
Distribution deals (2024)
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Serrana (Evamel SA), a leading company from Uruguay. This distribution agreement represents a significant step forward for Gavafoods, strengthening our ability to deliver top-quality seafood..

Fishery Improvement Project (2026)
We started a Fishery Improvement Project covering four wild shrimp species from the Gulfs of Panama and Chiriquí. Led by CeDePesca and joined by APECAM, the project brings our whole supply chain into the same commitment: the vessels that catch the shrimp, the plants that process it and the companies that export it. The fishery will be assessed against the MSC Fisheries Standard and every milestone is published on FisheryProgress, so our customers can follow the progress themselves.
